Booking terms

Deposit   We ask for half the hire charge, please, if your holiday is within 6 months of the booking date.  If you are booking more than 6 months in advance (and your booking is for more than £300), you can pay 25% initially, 25% 6 months before your stay and the remaining 50% 6 weeks before your stay.

V.A.T. is included in the hire charge. It is chargeable at the rate current at the time of confirming a booking with your first payment.

Balance   We ask for the balance of the hire charge to be settled six weeks before the beginning of your holiday.

Autumn/Winter/ Spring Short Breaks  From November to April inclusive (excluding school holidays), part week bookings are welcome (excluding school holidays). Please see the short breaks page on our website

Arrival and Departure           Arrival time:  4.00 p.m. onwards.               Departure time:  by 10.00 a.m.  please

With your deposit receipt we send a map showing how to find Treworgey. Please do not arrive before 4.00 p.m.  If you expect to arrive very much later, please let us know.  We ask that you don’t arrive after midnight so that other guests are not disturbed.  Please vacate your cottage by 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.

Insurance    No-one wants to pay for a holiday they cannot take, so please do insure.  Insurance is an inexpensive safeguard against holiday cancellation.

Cancellation Terms and Conditions   In the event of a cancellation the hirer must advise us immediately, whereupon we will, without prejudice to our right to the balance in full, use our best endeavours to re-let. If we can re-let (which in the majority of cases we have done) we will return your deposit less any expenses incurred for advertising, office costs, etc, and less any shortfalls in discounted list price.  Until such time as a vacancy has been re-let the hirer is responsible for making any further payments by the due dates.  Failure to do so may mean that the hirer forfeits any refund if the cottage is re-let.  If we cannot re-let, all payments including the balance are still payable by the due date(s).  It is unlikely that a refund can be made for a late cancellation.

Guest’s Terms and Conditions   At least one member of the party (at least the person making the booking) must be over 18 years of age at the time of booking confirmation. The Contract for a short-term holiday rental will be between the Treworgey Cottages Owners (referred to as “us” or “we”) and the person making the booking and all members of the holiday party (referred to as “you” or “your”) in the booking conditions outlined on this page. UK law will govern the Contract. The contract of hire is not effective until we have received the deposit. The contract will be subject to these booking conditions, and must be complied with.

No more than the maximum number of persons stated in the brochure and the web site may occupy the property unless with express written permission from us. We reserve the right to refuse admittance if this condition is not observed. Any persons other than members of your party may not use the facilities at Treworgey. Treworgey, its employees and its representatives shall not be liable to you or your party for loss or damage to property howsoever arising. You must take all necessary steps to protect and safegaurad your personal property. You are responsible for the property and are expected to take all reasonable care of its furniture, pictures, fittings and effects, in or on the property. You must leave them in the same state of repair, and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period as at the beginning. You must not use the properties for any dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisy, immoral activities or carry on there any act that may be a nuisance or annoyance to the owner or other neighbouring properties. Smoking is not allowed inside any of the cottages. You are legally bound to reimburse us for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand. We shall be allowed the right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance. Every effort has been made to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay. However, if you have any problem or cause for complaint, it is essential that you contact us immediately to give us the chance to resolve it. We value you, our guests, and want you to return.

Data  We treat any data collected during the course of making bookings or dealing with enquiries in strict confidence. Your data will never be sold.

For more details, please see our privacy policy.

Thank you

Pets   You are most welcome to bring your well-behaved pet, subject to prior arrangement, provided you never allow your pet on the beds or furniture.  We must also ask that you never leave a pet alone in the cottage while you are out (unless it is by arrangement with us and at your own risk), or allow it to be noisy or annoy other guests.  We make a charge (see dog info page for up-to-date rate) as we find they do cause us extra cleaning.  When pets are expected, we put throws on the armchairs and sofas, and we wash the throws each time they are used.  We do this to protect future guests who may be allergic to pets.  There are plenty of lovely walks for dogs and people, and fields where guests are welcome to exercise their dogs. This is a farming district with sheep and other livestock - please do not allow dogs out on their own.

Fires   All cottages have open hearth fireplaces or log burning stoves.  An initial supply of coal and logs will be left in your cottage upon arrival along with firelighters, kindling and matches etc.  (There are even helpful instructions for those unfamiliar with open fires or log burners.)  Further supplies of coal and logs are obtained from the store close to your cottage - just help yourself!

Electricity and Heating   Electricity and heating are included in the hire charge.

Babysitting, Highchairs, Stair gates   All available by prior arrangement except stair gates which are provided as standard.  Because babies often dislike strange bedding, we do not supply cot bedding, only the mattress.  See the ‘Little Ones’ page on the website for other useful equipment we can lend.  We can usually arrange a trusted babysitter for you if requested.

Phone, internet/e-mail, fax, mobiles   Emergency telephone is located in the pool house. Every cottage has wifi, as does the Information Room. Most mobiles work well at Treworgey.

Disclaimer   The provision of any meal service available to visitors to Treworgey or referenced by our literature or linked to our website is provided by an independent contractor wholly separate from Treworgey or its proprietors or any other business carried out at Treworgey. In no event shall the proprietors of Treworgey be liable for any damages whatsoever including special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind without limitation or any complaint or action resulting from any defect in the service or tort (including negligence) whether or not advised of the possibility of damage, and on any theory of liability, arising out of or in connection with the provision of any meal service referenced by our literature, or linked to our website.
